About

Manufacturing & distributing steel framing components in Forest Park, Georgia since 1959

The Formetal Company, LLC has been manufacturing and distributing cold-formed steel framing for over 65 years. We rollform steel stud and track at our plant at 239 3rd Street in Forest Park, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, and we ship to jobsites across the Southeast and nationwide.

We are a family-run manufacturer, not a marketplace and not a reseller platform. When you order from us, you are ordering from the company that makes the material or buys it direct from the mill and the manufacturer.

What we make

We manufacture:

  • Steel studs and track, structural and non-structural

  • Slotted Track

  • Angle, furring channel, flat strap, hat channel, RC1, and cold roll channel

  • Custom-cut lengths, made to your takeoff

Custom lengths are a large part of what we do. Ordering material cut to the length you actually need cuts scrap, cuts labor, and keeps crews moving.

What we supply

Alongside the framing we roll ourselves, we stock and supply the clips, connectors, and fasteners that go with it. We have been distributing the following manufacturer’s products for years:

  • ClarkDietrich — EasyClip connectors, bridging, backing, and framing accessories

  • Simpson Strong-Tie — anchors, fasteners, adhesives, and connectors

  • The Steel Network — BridgeClip, VertiClip, and related connectors

Many of these orders ship direct from the manufacturer's warehouse rather than from our plant, which gets material to your job faster. Our Shipping Policy explains how that works.

Who we work with

We supply builders, general contractors, framers, drywall subcontractors, and specialty trades working on commercial, multi-family, retail, and residential projects. We have been doing it in the Atlanta market since 1959 and have long-running relationships with contractors across Georgia and the Southeast.

If you are pricing a full framing package, send us your takeoff and we will quote it. If you need a box of clips by Thursday, order it here.

How to reach us

We answer the phone. If you are not sure which clip you need, or whether a part number is right for your assembly, call us before you order and we will help you get it right.
